Every cancer, like every patient, is different. That’s why Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Suburban Chicago offers patients personalized treatment plans, focused specifically on their needs.
The gynecologic oncology team at CTCA® has expertise in diagnosing and treating cancers of the female reproductive organs, including cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal and vulvar cancers. CTCA combines advanced treatment options, including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, with evidence-informed integrative oncology services to deliver whole-person care. Younger women with gynecologic cancers may also benefit from fertility-sparing options. A patient’s quality of life is always the primary focus.
At CTCA, each gynecologic patient is surrounded by a multidisciplinary care team that may include a gynecologic oncologist (experienced in diagnosing, treatment and surgery), surgical oncologist and pathologist. Each person is also supported by a clinical oncology dietitian, naturopathic oncology provider, mind-body therapist, survivorship services and more, to help patients determine appropriate care, manage side effects and maintain strength during treatment.
Fighting Cancer at the Molecular Level
For those who have not, or no longer, benefit from the standard-of-care treatment options, they might find new hope in advanced genomic testing. This looks at a patient’s cancer cells at the molecular level and may reveal abnormalities in the tumor gene sequence. It also allows the oncologist to determine if a targeted therapy not previously considered would be a good option (for example, using a breast cancer therapy for lung cancer).
