With the philosophy of marrying both Eastern and Western medicine, Dr. Nicole Williams opened The Gynecology Institute in 2013. Unlike other practices, The Gynecology Institute believes in a specialized approach for women’s health and includes Acupuncture, massage, herbals, and Nurse Practitioner care. Her world travel experiences and core belief in “giving back” has not only shaped her medical practice, but her entire life.
Dr. Williams earned a BS in Biochemistry and BA in English Literature from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. With the mission to help others, she decided to focus on medicine and further her education at Loyola University of Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine. In 2000, she traveled to Haiti as a medical volunteer where she was overwhelmed with the need for women’s health care in third world countries. From that point forward, Dr. Williams made a promise to travel internationally to help women in dire need. She has traveled to Ghana, The Dominican Republic, Cambodia, The Philippines, and Rwanda to perform necessary gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Williams trained under a world renowned Urogynecologist and now serves as Chief of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Urogynecology at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and also serves on staff at Rush University Medical Center and Presence St. Joseph Hospital.
