The delicious (in terms of both eye candy and actual food) Longman & Eagle restaurant in Logan Square offered a sneak peek of its six overnight rooms recently, and while they are still not ready for boarders, you can make reservations online for January and beyond. (You can also see photos of all the rooms online.) If you have not yet checked out this modern-saloon-style eatery, then you must do so, if only to take in the cool (yet warm) ambience. You may actually love it so much, you’ll want to spend the night in one of the rooms, all of which are appointed with custom furniture and built-ins made by local craftsmen Robert McAdams and John Martin of Mode Cabinetry (they also have soy-foam mattresses and HD LCD TVs with Apple TV, and some rooms come with vintage cassette-tape consoles and mix tapes—yes, tapes!). Rates range from $75 for a 138-square-foot room with a full-sized bed to $225 for a 351-square-foot room with a king-sized bed. Minimalist, hip, with amazing woodwork and cool art by local artists, these chambers will keep you up at night wondering about how you can re-create the look at home.
