Amphora Loft, a contemporary version of Amphora, a discount upscale home furnishings store, has opened at 137 N. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge, 847-518-9002, just down the street from the original location. The Glen Ellyn antique furniture and textile shop Maison Suzanne is opening a second store in early June at 206 S. Marion St., Oak Park, 708-524-5316; maisonsuzanne.com. Fireside Collection by Fireplaces Plus offers handcrafted fireplace furnishings and accessories at 200 W. Ohio St., 312-587-7587; firesidecollection.com. Room Service, a vintage home and garden furnishings shop, opened at 5438 N. Clark St., 773-878-5438. Grasshopper 510, specializing in eco-friendly design, including everything from furniture and tabletop pieces to purses and body products, opened at 1944 N. Damen Ave., 773-292-0510. The first freestanding Maxalto store to open in the U.S. is at 309 W. Superior St. This offshoot of B&B Italia features modern reinterpretations of French design of the 1920s, '30s, and '40s.

Kitchen & bath news

Dream Kitchens displays Crossville, Grohe, Kohler, Stone Care, and Omega Cabinetry at its new 2,500-square-foot showroom at 799 Central Ave., Highland Park, 847-433-2400; dreamkitchens.com. Studio 41 has opened its sixth area kitchen and bath showroom at Design Pointe, 1320 N. Route 59, Naperville, 630-357-1320;studiofortyone.com.
