Isn’t It Grand?

Kai Kristiansen chairs, Danish pendant light, Eero Saarinen for Knool chairs, Danish teak trays, Danish leather lounge chair and ottoman
Clockwise from top, middle: a pair of Kai Kristiansen chairs with a John Brauer molded acrylic Illusion table; a 1960s Danish pendant light; 1950s Eero Saarinen for Knoll chairs; 1960s Danish teak trays; and a Danish leather lounge chair and ottoman

Opening

From the owners of West Town’s Uber Modern comes MCM Grand, an antiques mall focused on mid-century modern (MCM, get it?) and Hollywood Regency–style furniture and accessories. Unlike most malls, where items are organized by vendor, MCM is arranged in smart vignettes of simpatico furnishings. We saw an amazing black-lacquered chest of drawers and matching coffee table by Dorothy Draper, $2,400 for the pair. No wonder these two shops, a stone’s throw from one another, are favorites of Nate Berkus and the designers at Hudson Home. MCM Grand, 2219 W. Grand Ave., 312-666-3376; mcmgrand.net; Uber Modern, 2256 W. Grand Ave., 312-733-3583; ubermodern.com
