Bring It Home

PUFFER’S P.O.V.: Mixing vintage with new—and a few bold colors with contrasts of dark and light—this social animal made his home feel cozy for himself and exciting for his guests.

Bed, lamp, rug, and bedspread

Modern Sleep  (Clockwise from left) Portica queen stainless steel canopy bed, $1,399, at Room & Board. Stockholm Rand flat-woven wool rug, about 8 by 5 ½ feet, $179, at Ikea. Boka ceramic table lamp with dupioni silk shade, $179, at Crate & Barrel. Cotton bedspread with contrasting stitching, $209, at BoConcept.

Double lounger, tea light fireplace, and outdoor pillow

Take It Outside  Low-slung furniture, a toasty fire, and lots of pillows create a lounge feel on the deck. Nyatoh-wood double lounger, $549, at West Elm. Cyl “tea light” fireplace by EcoSmart, $1,990, at Vesta, 1357 W. Concord Pl., and Tile Gallery, 225 W. Ohio St. Fern outdoor pillow, polyester, 18 by 18 inches, $40, at target.com.

Black marble-lined entry

Touch of Glam Add some shimmer to your shack with shiny mosaic tile. Puffer used black marble tile to define his entry area and infuse it with glamour. Bisazza Mosaico (bisazza.com) and Maestro Mosaics (maestromosaics.com) are two excellent places to get this look.
