Archisesto Architect Giacomo Ferrucci has expanded the selection at Archisesto, his 3,000-square-foot West Loop trade-only office furnishings showroom, to include three floors of contemporary Italian kitchens and bathroom lines not available anywhere else in the Midwest—and he has opened it to the public. Kitchens are from the high-end manufacturer Acheo and the more affordable Zecchinon (think upscale Ikea); bath products are from Novello and Newform, all small, family-run, Italy-based businesses. 1006 W. Randolph St., 312-212-3680, archisesto.com

The Rug Company British luxury-rug powerhouse The Rug Company, known for its collaborations with famous artists and fashion and interior designers, along with the Nepalese and Indian artisans who make the rugs by hand, is opening a striking 3,000-square-foot, glass-box-style outpost in River North this fall. This is the company’s fourth store in the U.S.; in addition to rugs, you’ll find wall hangings and cushions there. 320 N. Clark St., therugcompany.info
