Fall Out Boy

Music in 2013 is getting weird, guys. First, Beyonce launched her return to world domination with a Destiny’s Child reunion and their less-than-fab new single “Nuclear” (though they really rocked the hairography at the Super Bowl last Sunday). Then Justin Timberlake promised to bring his “sexy back,” but confused us all by choosing “Suit and Tie” as his first single. (Good song, but really Justin, that’s your lead move here?)

Now Fall Out Boy, those Wilmette wonders who took emo and eyeliner mainstream, are back. They released a new single, “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up).” The track shot to the number 2 spot on the iTunes chart and the boys played to a sold out audience at Subterranean last night, all with barely any notice of a reunion.

That’s not all. Their new album, Save Rock and Roll, is out May 7. They’re playing Jimmy Kimmel Live next week, and prepping for a tour this summer (Chicago fans: they’re playing the Riviera May 16).

We’ve already talked about how this year is 2006 all over again. Now the Best New Artist from 2006 is back on tour?

Just don’t give us James Blunt again, 2013. That’s all we ask.
