Careers at Chicago Magazine
Chicago magazine is looking for a full-time designer in the editorial art department. Responsibilities include: working closely with editors to design FOB sections, occasional features and special projects, assigning photos and illustrations, and generating graphics.
Candidates should be self-starters with great communication skills. Candidates should also be capable of juggling multiple assignments from concept to completion while maintaining a positive attitude. A portfolio of strong editorial work, at least three years of experience, and expertise in Adobe Creative Suite is required. Knowledge of k4 and digital platforms is a plus.
This is a fun, fast paced environment where you'll work among a small, dynamic staff. Our office is located in downtown Chicago. Full benefits and EOE.

Chicago magazine's editorial department seeks motivated, enthusiastic journalism students and recent graduates to help with fact checking and story research. Interns are also encouraged to pitch ideas and write for various sections of the magazine. Our minimum-wage positions are four days a week, so please state your availability in your application.
Applications are taken well in advance. Deadlines are as follows:
- Summer, April 1
- Fall, August 1
- Winter, November 1
- Spring, March 1
