EDITORIAL INTERNSHIPS
Chicago magazine's editorial department seeks motivated, enthusiastic journalism students to help with fact checking and story research. Interns are also encouraged to pitch ideas and write for various sections of the magazine. Our minimum-wage positions are four days a week, so please state your availability in your application.
Chicago magazine also features a research internship for our dining section. An interest in restaurants is useful but not necessary.
Applications are taken well in advance. Deadlines are as follows:
* Summer, April 1
* Fall, August 1
* Winter, Nov. 1
* Spring, March 1

CHICAGO HOME + GARDEN INTERNSHIP
Chicago Home + Garden is looking for great intern candidates. These minimum-wage positions are for journalism students who can work in our offices at least two days a week. We give strong preference to candidates who are magazine majors and who have some publication experience, either with student publications or at another internship. Duties include lots of fact checking (experience in this preferred), some clerical duties, photo research, story research, sidebar writing, headline writing, and participation in story planning. Internships typically last three months but are flexible.
We have hired an intern for summer, 2009. If our needs change for summer, we will contact you. Otherwise, we are accepting applications for fall, 2009.
