		1984 Becomes host of A.M. Chicago
		1985 A.M. Chicago is renamed The Oprah Winfrey Show.
		1986 Does last interview with Liberace; he dies two months later of AIDS.
		1987 Elizabeth Taylor appears on the show and refuses to answer questions about men, marriage, and jewelry. Leaves Oprah at a loss for words
		1988 After losing 67 pounds, Oprah pulls a red wagon of fat onto the stage.
		1990 When the abuse victim Truddi Chase appears on the show, Oprah breaks down in tears and admits her own sexual molestation.
		1992 Oprah announces her engagement to Stedman Graham.
		1996 During a show on the cattle industry, Oprah says she was “stopped . . . cold from eating another burger” after hearing about mad-cow disease. Texas cattlemen sue her.
		1998 Oprah appears on the cover of Vogue.
		2000 O, The Oprah Magazine becomes the most successful magazine launch in history.
		2004 Every audience member gets a Pontiac.
		2005 Tom Cruise jumps on Oprah’s sofa, proclaiming his love for Katie Holmes.
