The food is timelessly traditional in this cheerful storefront, but the casual vibe is totally today. Start with smoky baba ghannouj or crunchy kibbeh and maybe a pile of pita chips. If you’re up for sandwiches, both the kufta and the falafel deliver—they’re fresh, substantial, and made with care. Daily specials include musakhkhan, the Palestinian national dish, on Saturday and Sunday; we loved the taboon bread smeared with sautéed onions and topped with toasted pine nuts and bites of sumac-spiced chicken. To finish, baklava or a nicely undersweet date cookie is just the ticket with a cup of tea. Cash only.
