If only every new restaurant were like Giant, the energetic Logan Square small-plates spot from Jason Vincent, Ben Lustbader (both of Nightwood), and Josh Perlman (Avec). Memorable details crowd the storefront—patchwork banquettes, a super-cool floating-record vertical turntable—and the menu is full of imaginative crowd pleasers. Some are as straight-up as sugar-topped homemade biscuits with warm jalapeño butter; others as unlikely sweet-and-sour eggplant on homemade flatbreads with cashews, pancetta, and aïoli white sauce. Either way, Giant’s got people under its sway. Sly staff, quirky wine list.
