Critic’s Notes

The stylish room, equal parts modern and refined, caters to a well-dressed and thirsty crowd. The steaks—including the heroic 24-ounce cowboy, the wood-grilled steak frites, and the Duke, a crispy-topped center-cut rib-eye fillet—take your breath away. Good drinks and rich desserts balance out RPM’s main drawbacks: service and side dishes, both of which are playful but uneven.

Dishes We Liked

Roasted bone marrow ($15), seared foie gras with apple and red onion jam and grilled peach ($21), steak tartare with chanterelles and a farm egg ($16), grilled ciabatta with eggplant dip and harissa ($10), Japanese yellowtail with Peruvian pepper ($14), roasted Ora King salmon with tarragon aïoli ($27), cowboy steak ($72), RPM Steak Frites ($39), blue cheese whipped potatoes ($9), chocolate soufflé with mint ice cream ($12), Tuxedo with absinthe, gin, and Vermouth ($13)
