Critic’s Notes

Kevin Hickey’s boisterously fun and welcoming corner tavern makes absolutely no bones about its obsession with duck meat. By all means, preorder the signature rotisserie duck for two—accompanied by a watermelon radish salad soaked with irresistible drippings. You also can’t go wrong with Hickey’s Chicago-style duck-fat dog or his sage-smothered carbonara with duck egg. Service can drag a bit, but turn your attention to the smart beer and cocktail list, and you won’t notice the occasional slow patches.

Dishes We Liked

Chicago-style duck-fat dog ($10), toasted farro with roasted mushrooms ($12/$19); rotisserie duck ($62), bone-in short rib ($34), white chocolate crémeux, blood orange sorbet, and shortbread crumble ($9)
