Thanks to an old beer ad uncovered on a brick wall during construction and the three oversize grandfather clocks backing the bar, this 3,000-square-foot, two- month-old German beer hall manages to feel like a friendly standby. Put away a meaty Thuringer sausage slathered in spicy mustard and a cocktail with rye and caraway liqueur, and you’ll forget how long you’ve been there, too.

Who’s there: Neighborhooders seeking a PBR-free place to linger

What to order: The namesake beer, made by Lombard’s Flesk Brewing
