A few other options are: Thai Wild Ginger (full thai GF menu); The Melting Pot (has GF bread for their fondue); Sunda (I'm told there is a list of GF items posted for waitstaff to see and they have GF soy sauce); RA Sushi has GF soy sauce; Drew's Eatery in Lincoln Square can make sandwiches on GF bun and has GF Mac and Cheese!!; Pizza Capri has GF menu items.
I'm also told that most Lettuce restaurants have GF menus or at least know what's GF.
Fattoush Restaurant in Lincoln Park is also a great gluten-free option. It's byob and basically 100% gluten free.
I am Celiac and called Hannah's Bretzel in the Illinois Center to ask if they assemble the GF sandwiches on a separate line or what precautions they take to ensure no cross contamination (the bane of a Celiac's existence). The person I talked to stated that the GF sandwiches are assembled on the same line as the non-GF sandwiches and are on a piece of wax paper that is slid down the counter (think Subway). Needless to say, there is a possibility of cross contamination and beware if you are as sensitive as I am.
