RACE TO MACKINAC
More than 300 ships are expected to set sail in the oldest freshwater race in the world. The event clocks in at over 20 hours, but the Michigan island’s famous fudge serves as a delicious reward.
7/13 Spectators will not be able to actually watch the start of the race, because it begins three miles offshore, but competitors will be showing off their stunning boats in a parade at Navy Pier. Themed festivities will also take place. 10–2. Free. Navy Pier, 600 E Grand. cycracetomackinac.com.
