Ah, July: the time when frozen drinks lose their stigma and become essential to survival. While your boozing brethren cool off with margaritas, you can one-up them at Pub Royale, a new British-style pub with Indian cuisine from Heisler Hospitality (Lone Wolf, Sportsman’s Club). Here, the mango lassi—a nonalcoholic yogurt-based refresher popular in India and Pakistan—gets Slurpee-fied in the best possible way. The basic elements of yogurt and mango purée are accounted for, but when swirled in a slushy machine with yogurt liqueur, rum, ancho chili liqueur, and a Southeast Asian distillate called Batavia arrack, the result is easy-drinking boozy fusion. 2049 W.
