Deal of the Month: An Oak Park Home for $340,000

With three bedrooms, a finished basement, and plenty of outdoor space, this 2,200-square-foot property is a lot of house for the marked-down price.

This three-bedroom stucco in the heart of town dates to 1918, but it has been thoroughly updated with Australian cypress floors, leaded-glass windows, and an energy-saving electrical system. A finished basement, big patio, and 2-car garage add to the 2,200-square-foot home’s appeal.

The asking price is now $340,000—down 2.86% from its original listing of $350,000. It’s now a short sale, meaning that the asking price is less than the amount owed on the mortgage.
