Cindy Crawford

<< Back to menu

The model Cindy Crawford, 1982. “She was a farm girl, and she was 16. When she walked in, I said, ‘Is this our model? And what’s with that mole?’ I didn’t know she was going to be famous; I just thought she had a neat look to her. That’s a snapshot of her hanging out in my studio [above]. That’s her in the corset [below]. It was a lingerie-sale ad for Marshall Field’s. The art director showed me a layout with a picture by Horst that was done in the thirties, a photo of a model in a bustier taken from the back. I did hundreds of Cindy Crawford shots. I did Cindy in bras and panties. She was always up, and the type of person who asked if I needed help carrying my tripod when we went on location.”
