On 12-plus acres in the village of Hinsdale, two developers are collaborating on a collection of condos and townhouses whose shingle-and-stone styling—complemented by two gazebos, a pond rimmed with wetland plants, and garages hidden from street view—should give the place a true village atmosphere.

Hinsdale

From $395,000
to $899,000

The Hamptons of Hinsdale will eventually include ten buildings with 119 units—93 condos and 26 townhouses—even though zoning laws would have permitted 180. The project’s developers, Hank Haff of Oak Brook’s HJH Homes and Don Price of Hinsdale’s Wexford Development, say that they wanted to maintain the area’s spaciousness. At the request of Hinsdale officials, they have also connected the street in their project to other nearby roadways. “It’s going to feel like this is a part of the neighborhood that was already here,” Haff says.

Some townhouses have been completed, and condo construction began late last year. The developers have already sold 17 of 27 units in the first phase and have begun selling units in the second phase. Prices start at $395,000 for a 1,262-square-foot one-bedroom condo and top off at $899,000 for a 2,817-square-foot townhouse with three bedrooms.
