18. Grange Hall Burger Bar

"Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first."—Ernestine Ulmer (American writer, 1892-1987). Sound advice and a tough call at Grange Hall. Done up like the cutest family-friendly barn you've ever seen, GH features one pie each month (we can vouch for the pumpkin, chocolate pudding, and Key lime) and also grills insanely good six- or nine-ounce burgers—beef, turkey, and wild-rice veggie. The buns are works of art, too: They soak up the juice but never fall apart. Fries and onion rings are only OK, but that leaves room for a slice of handmade pie topped with house-churned ice cream. Unless, of course, you ate dessert first.
