Divide and Conquer

Division Street is no Roscoe Village or Southport Corridor—yet—but with his new Irish-ish Division Ale House, Baris Yuksel hopes to draw in the stroller set by day (brunch, booster seats) and serious drinkers by night. In addition to the 80-ounce “beer towers”—portable taps that dispense Boddingtons, Stella, and more tableside ($10-$24)—there’s a list of 18 specialty shots. If the towers, the disco ball, and the dance floor don’t scare off Mom and the kiddies, the Dirty Pirate Hooker shooter ($6) will. Even so, Yuksel sees his new bar developing the same everybody-knows-your-name feel as his Wicker Park tapas spot, People Lounge. Patrons better hope the bartender knows their names: After 80 ounces of beer, they’ll likely need him to call them a cab.
