Since 2002, Chicago orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Steven C. Chudik has been returning patients to their active lives with pioneering innovations in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery. Dr. Chudik holds multiple U.S. patents and developed several minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgical procedures to provide alternatives and better outcomes for his patients. He does not settle for the “standard of care.” Through research and innovation, Dr. Chudik strives to discover new and better ways to treat his patients.
Patients travel the United States and internationally for Dr. Chudik’s orthopaedic expertise and for his kind and genuine bedside manner. He is approachable and prefers to create a partnership with his patients that emphasizes open communication and education. According to Dr. Chudik, “taking the time to listen and find out what is actually bothering the patient, helping them understand what is wrong, and working with the patient to determine an individualized treatment plan based on their personal timing and goals are the keys to delivering exceptional care.”
Dr. Chudik is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon fellowship trained in shoulder, knee, and sports medicine; partner at Hinsdale Orthopaedics, a division of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute; clinical professor at Loyola University of Chicago; research associate of Argonne National Laboratory and Hines Biomechanics Laboratory; “Top Doctor in Orthopaedics”; team physician for USA Swimming and many local organizations; and founder of OTRF, a nonprofit foundation that helps keep people active and healthy through unbiased education and research.
