Started in the early 1980s as a mom-and-pop business, Burdeens has blossomed into one of the best-known jewelry stores in the suburbs. The store is known for diamonds, most of which are acquired in Israel, and has two graduates of the prestigious Gemological Institute of America on staff. Decorated in posh Victorian style, the store also carries Breitling watches and is the only place in Illinois to find jewelry by designer Michael Beaudry.
