Owner Melissa Shipley has set up shop on the Maxwell Street strip, renovated from its vendor days and now playing home to this splendid upscale boutique. Shipley, who has a keen eye for up-and comers, chooses emerging lines, mostly under-the-radar international collections that change frequently. (Many of her brands receive national attention after she taps them for her shop.) Find Brazilian lines Lita Mortari, and Coven, as well as local line Serpico. Styles are feminine without veering toward precious. Prices average about $200 to $1,000. Another bonus? The shop is a stone's throw from a parking garage, which charges a mere two bucks for 2 1/2 hours.
