July 30, 2014—The Chicago Architecture Foundation hosted an event at Pilsen's Thalia Hall as part of its Behind the Scenes series. Attendees enjoyed refreshments while hearing about the hall’s storied past from Tim Samuelson, the City of Chicago’s cultural historian. Thalia Hall was founded by John Dusek in 1892 and was modeled after the Prague Opera House. After decades of vacancy, this landmark was re-established when Dusek’s and Punch House opened in the space last year.
