Thursday, 8/22: The Palm’s (323 E. Wacker Dr., 312-616-3717) $1 lobster slider special is back for one last day. The deal will be served all day, but only in the restaurant’s Palm Bar area.
Thursday, 8/22: In preparation for the new Lagunitas location in Chicago, High Noon Saloon (1560 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-227-9339) hosts the brewery’s beer ambassador Nick Iverson starting at 7 p.m. Four Lagunitas beers will be on draft, including two year-round brews ($4 a pint) and two seasonals ($8 a snifter). The event will have giveaways from the brewery and live music.
Friday, 8/23: Tomato season is as swift as it is delicious, but 2 Sparrows (553 W. Diversey Pkwy., 773-234-2320) has you covered. The restaurant spotlights tomatoes with a four-course dinner featuring gazpacho, grilled pork chops with tomato and apricot mole, and tomato pot-au-crème. Price is $45 and dinner starts at 7 p.m.; call ahead for reservations.
Sunday, 8/25: As part of its Ada for the Arts program, Ada St. (1664 N. Ada St., 773-697-7069) throws a party to raise money for the Chicago theatre company, Cock and Bull. The event runs from 3 to 6 p.m. and, for $25 in advance or $35 at the door, you can belly up to an open bar for local craft beer, Ada St. cocktails, and plenty of popcorn.
Sunday, 8/25: Don a helmet for the Four Star Bike & Chow. Riders can choose routes as short as 12 miles or as long as 62, the common denominator being that they all have stops for snacks along the way. Smoke Daddy, Red Apple Buffet, Arya Bhavan and Star of Siam are all on the menu, topped off with a Goose Island beer at the end. Tuesday, 8/27: Trenchermen (2039 W. North Ave., 773-661-1540) invites Perennial Artisan Ales to town for its special St. Louis + Chicago dinner. Both cities will be represented with food from Gerard Craft and Kevin Nashan of St. Louis, and Chicago’s own Paul Virant. Tickets for the five-course beer-pairing feast are $100 per person.
