Summer School

Study Hall (912 N. Ashland Ave., 312-733-4255, shopstudyhall.com), a new boutique in West Town, opened its doors last week with a concept that loosely mimics the academic semester. The owners, Malcolm Felder and Naoko Nagano, focus on a different subject each season, and then they curate the shop’s inventory to match it. Right now, they’re into hand-printed textiles—specifically ones made by Marüshka. And for the store’s debut collection, they collaborated with the iconic Michigan-based design house to print tees, tanks, stationery, and decorative canvases that are exclusive to Study Hall and its online store. The shop also stocks a rotating selection of accessories, art books, housewares, and men’s and women’s clothing. Find leather moccasins by Manimal ($180), striped tees by Covet ($65), and Izola vegetable wax candles ($34). The boutique is open by appointment and during weekends: Study Hall is in session Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 12 to 5 p.m.
