Weekend Photos: School of the Art Institute Chicago’s The Walk

Posted Apr 23, 2012 at 03:37 PM

The School of the Art Institute Chicago's annual fashion to-do, The Walk, went off in a big way on the evening of April 19 in a massive white tent pitched for the occasion in Millennium Park. The designer Cynthia Rowley, herself an SAIC fashion alum, was honored with the Legend of Fashion Award, along with her husband, Bill Powers, one of the stars of Bravo’s Work of Art. But the men and women of the hour were the students, who sent the products of their sartorial studies down the runway to an audience that included Ikram Goldman and Desirée Rogers. Our photographer snapped pics of the after-party, where student designers strolled arm-in-arm with the models who strutted the stuff of their creation.

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
