This ‘Mad Men’ Party Was Pretty Stylish, Even By Logan Theatre Standards

Dapper gents and dazzling ladies showed up for cocktails, a costume contest, and a look at Don Draper on the big screen.

Three stylish guests at the Mad Men premiere party at the Logan Theatre.

If you didn’t know what The Logan Theatre was up to last night—hosting a Mad Men premiere party where “period-appropriate” attire was “strongly encouraged”—you might have assumed you were hallucinating, in the midst of a Don Draper-esque drunken bender.

Between the theatre’s vintage decor, the oldies echoing through the lobby, and the throngs of fans taking the suggested dress code quite seriously, it was a scene straight from the sixties.

The night kicked off in fine fashion, with gin-based craft cocktails and mingling. The burlesque troupe, The Fly Honeys, regaled the crowd. The DJs We Theory spun era-appropriate tunes: Dion and the Belmonts, Frankie Lymon, Ray Charles, and countless other tracks from that bygone era where hair was short and skirts were long.

The premiere played to a full house. A costume contest for “Most Dapper” and “Most Dazzling” was held a few commercial breaks in. If you ask us, the ladies were dressed more impressively. But in the mens’ defense, a good suit and pocket square is a timeless combo, That’s true whether it’s 2013, or just the 1960s for a night.
