Weekend Photos: The Exchange

Posted Feb 1, 2010 at 05:06 PM

Those Small Bar guys have been busy: Even as Phil McFarland and Ty Fujimura’s third SB location hovers on the cusp of launching in Lincoln Park (word on the street is next week) and Fujimura readies his forthcoming Japanese restaurant, Arami, in West Town, the duo found a few spare moments to freshen up yet another property in their portfolio. Opening Tuesday in the address last home to the Wicker Park DJ den Lava is The Exchange (1270 N. Milwaukee Ave.; 773-342-5282), a chic little lounge with a cocktail-centric drink list dreamed up by the former Sepia mixmaster Peter Vestinos. We sent our photographer over to snap the spot’s soft opening on Saturday.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
