Weekend Photos: Barcito at Tavernita

Posted Feb 20, 2012 at 11:20 AM

Ryan Poli, a pig leg, and a chic crowd: all things we spotted Saturday night at Barcito, the pintxos bar that opened January 23 inside River North’s newest Spanish restaurant, Tavernita. About that Poli sighting: While the Perennial vet is the top chef of the greater Tavernita compound, we hear it’s not unusual to see him behind the bar in Barcito, where the snacks and small plates menu includes Iberico ham (which brings us back to that pork leg, sliced to order at $22 a serving). And as for Barcito’s stylish patrons? Browse our photos below.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
