Weekend Photos: Super Bowl XLVI at The Ogden

Posted Feb 6, 2012 at 12:20 PM

A mostly dispassionate crowd—Bears fans to the core, we presume—kept one eye on the game last night at The Ogden (1659 W. Ogden Ave.; 312-226-1888) as the Giants beat the Patriots, 21–17. The polished sports bar opened in the shadow of the United Center on December 30 with 23 TVs, a beer list of 18 drafts, plus some 80 cans and bottles, and a menu from Rodney Staton, formerly of Bite Cafe. Sunday’s crowd may have been nonchalant, but here’s betting patrons get fired up tonight, when the bar tunes its flat-screens to the Bulls game against the Nets. In the meantime, browse our photos below.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
