Weekend Photos: Day & Night of the Living Ales

Posted Mar 9, 2009 at 02:50 PM

Saturday’s Day & Night of the Living Ales was one scarily awesome-sounding slugfest we couldn’t pass up. And apparently, neither could you: Both the afternoon and the evening installment of the Chicago Beer Society’s fifth annual ode to cask-conditioned ales sold out. Folks came, saw, and sipped some 40 varieties of regional ales at Goose Island Wrigleyville before voting last year’s winner, Surly Brewing’s Tea Bagged Furious, back in as the 2009 Champion Real Ale of Chicagoland.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
