Weekend Photos: Estate

Posted Mar 5, 2012 at 01:45 PM

Gone are the remnants of Slow Down: Life’s Too Short, the hamburger- and hot-dog-topped bar on Elston Avenue that closed in 2004. In their place: Estate, the sleek new riverside spot that opened its doors to the public on Leap Day. When our photographer arrived at the 8,000-square-foot multi-room “ultra bar” on Saturday night, there was a line of partygoers at the door—plus a fire marshall on hand to make sure the building wasn’t over capacity. Browse our photos of weekend revelers in the gallery below.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
