Weekend Photos: St. Patrick’s Day at Fulton’s on the River

Posted Mar 19, 2012 at 11:22 AM

Even in the typical sleet, slush, and slop, the St. Pat’s party people come in droves for a glimpse of the Chicago River in its one day of Kelly green glory. So, with its July-like temps, Saturday’s riverside merriment was off the charts. We gave our photographer a rare early wakeup call and sent him straight into the epicenter—Fulton’s on the River—to capture the river-dyeing revelry. Predictably, the bilevel space was packed to the hilt, the green beer and Guinness-topped Bloody Mary’s were flowing, and the crowd was—for once—basking in both sláinte and sunshine.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
