Weekend Photos: Halloween at The Fifty/50

Muppets, pirates, and Hunter S. Thompson: Oh, my! On Saturday we sent our photographer to The Fifty/50, where Halloween tomfoolery included costume and pumpkin-carving contests, plus drink specials in mildly disturbing, only-on-Halloween shades. To the creatively costumed: We salute you. To the pumpkin artists, a word of advice: Next year, maybe wait to dip into the Witches' Brew until after the carving contest is over. (Seriously, what is that? A hedgehog?)

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
