Weekend Photos: Darkroom’s Last Call

Posted Sep 10, 2012 at 11:13 AM

Sunday night marked the end of Darkroom’s eleven-year run. One of the first residents of the now-bumping Chicago Avenue, the Ukie Village club has played host to musical acts such as Assassins and Mayor Hawthorne, as well as scores of deejays. We stopped by for the bittersweet last hurrah, where regulars and former employees gathered to dispose of the bar’s final bottles of booze while waxing poetic about Reggae dance nights past.

About Seen on the Scene

Call it bar hopping by proxy: Each week we send our photographers into the thick of the action to capture the latest openings and the most buzzed-about events; then, on Mondays, we post the photos here, where you can view them without getting elbowed in the side or having a drink spilled down your pants. You’re welcome. And for those who do run into our photographers out and about, be sure to smile for the camera.
