Star Slinger + Lil Texas + Equator Club + Stefan Ponce

12/13 at 8 Manchester producer Star Slinger is known for his remixes of neo R&B crooners such as Jessie Ware, indie rockers and rappers such as Lil B and Juicy J. Tonight he’ll play a set filled with favorite tracks and ace original material incorporating house and instrumental hip hop sounds. Go for the dance party, stay for the free photo booth pics after midnight. Rising local producer Stefan Ponce, who worked on Childish Gambino’s new single “3005,” is up first. $35. Girl Group Chicago + The Yolks

12/31 at 9 Can you think of anything more fun than local lady rockers all done up in 60s-style hair, makeup and costumes performing takes on classic soul, girl group and doo wop cuts? Take a ride on the Wayback Machine as the clock strikes midnight at this throwback party where an amalgam of local female musicians and singers party like it’s 1959. $20. Hideout Chicago, 1354 W. Black Joe Lewis & The Honey Bears + Outer Minds + Numero Group DJs

12/31 at 9 Austin-based revivalist Black Joe Lewis does a decent James Brown-meets-Delta Blues thing, but what makes tonight is the local support. Charming psych-pop outift Outer Minds adds a welcome dose of girl vocals and 12-string guitar fuzz while the Numero Group DJs spin lost soul and funk tracks that’ll surely inspire the headliner. $71. Archie Powell & The Exports + The Noise FM + Hemmingbirds

Dessa + Astronautalis
