Miley Cyrus

3/7 at 7:30 Remember that collective nightmare last August in which Cyrus strapped on flesh-colored latex underwear, Robin Thicke borrowed Beetlejuice’s suit, and the two engaged in an awkward, age-inappropriate grinding sesh to “Blurred Lines” on the MTV Video Music Awards? That PR stunt launched the 21-year-old former Disney star’s ad nauseam media antics, and though “Wrecking Ball” is a decent enough pop tune, for better or worse, it’s not why Miley’s burned into anyone’s memory. $49.50–$89.50. 3 Shows at Metro

3/6 at 8:30 White Denim. The trio from Austin, Texas, steeps prog-synth noodling in a heady brew of hard rock on its newest LP, 2013’s Corsicana Lemonade. $18.
3/16 at 8 Russian Circles. This instrumental metal trio has climbed the ranks to become one of the most compelling live shows you’ll see on the local front, with an arsenal of looping pedals, fog machines, and uplights to add even more texture to its signature layered assaults. The group plays behind sinister 2013 album Memorial.
3/28 at 9 Warpaint. The Los Angeles–based ladies weave an ethereal sonic tapestry reminiscent of Cocteau Twins and Mazzy Star without outrightly aping either. They tour in support of a new self-titled album, hot off the presses in January. $21.
