Art Collector Open House

Jack and Sandra Guthman are two of Chicago’s most prominent collectors of contemporary art. Their Near-North Side home is filled floor-to-ceiling. Get a private tour with the Chicago Artists Coalition special membership group. $150. Make and Bake Bread Art

Sculpted molds by artists Amber Ginsburg and Joe Madrigal are used to bake bread loaves into body-part shapes. Visitors are encouraged to mix and knead the dough, fill the molds, and use the art center’s kilns to bake them. Free. Art Criticism Revealed

Pull back the curtain on art criticism with a group dialogue called Writing in the Margins – Who Do You Write For? Critics, reporters, and arts writers reveal the motivations of their work. Dance in an Art Film

Look Up into the Trees

Ten dead trees around Chicago have been transformed by ten local sculptors—including Indira Johnson and Ken Johnson, Mia Capodilupo—who either carve the bark or costume the trunks.
