Rush St., Gold Coast, 312-994-7100) during its Tomato Festival tonight, where much of the menu will spotlight this season’s harvest from five area farms (in dishes such as spaghetti and a salad with peaches and burrata, and alongside the salt-crusted branzino). Wednesday, August 5
Brush up on your Evanston history over dinner at Found (1631 Chicago Ave., 847-868-8945) through a visual tour and interactive installation of the city’s history taking over the restaurant. It’s the first of the new “Meet Me at Found” series, which will run Wednesdays in August and feature a different theme each week. In addition to the installation this Wednesday, there will be a salon talk with Eden Juron Pearlman, executive director of the Evanston History Museum from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Get a taste of real, Italian pizza at Spacca Napoli (1769 W. Sunnyside Ave., Ravenswood, 773-878-2420). The spot will host pizzamaker-in-residence Attilio Bachetti, the man behind Naples’ well-respected Pizzeria Attilio, and Bachetti will work alongside Spacca’s team to craft several special pies for the occasion (including one with conciato romano cheese, fior di latte, squash, and roasted walnuts).

To celebrate Jamaican independence, Mr. Brown’s Lounge (81 E. Wacker Pl., Loop, 312-334-6760) will be running a day of specials, including $7 glasses of rum punch, $4 Red Stripes, and $7 plates of jerk chicken in addition to the regular menu.

This weekend truly marks the dog days of summer, in that the third annual Hot Dog Fest starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chicago History Museum (1601 N. Clark St., Old Town).
