What You Need to Know About the Chicago Dining Scene this Week

Lots of new Loop dining options, for one.

Openings

There’s another option for lunch salads downtown. Sweetgreen (623 N. State St., River North, 312-374-8173), which gets you veggies in a fast-casual setting, has begun its Chicago takeover—on the heels of this first outpost’s opening, there’s already news of a second location coming to the West Loop.

Peruvian restaurant-bar Boleo and chic cocktail lounge Vol. 39 both opened up inside the Kimpton Gray Hotel (122 W. Monroe St., Loop, 312-750-9012). And they’re not even the only dining and drinking spots in the hotel—they join the recently opened Steadfast restaurant.

Praise be! Revival Food Hall (125 S. Clark St.), the Loop lunching megaplex, finally opened its doors. If you need help navigating, we’ve got a handy guide.

Morsels

This week in restaurant closures: We’ve lost surprisingly controversial Mexican spot Cantina 1910 (5025 N. Clark St., Andersonville), nearby New American pub The Brixton (5420 N. Clark St., Andersonville), and, at least for a time during a “reconcepting” under the guidance of DMK after service on August 27, Graham Elliot Bistro (841 W. Randolph St., West Loop).
