Tuesday, August 2

Take a break during your stroll along the 606 with a popsicle from the IceTrike, a new mobile snack unit from Mindy’s Hot Chocolate that will be stationed at various points along the trail throughout the summer. The pops, in combos such as Peanut Butter & Jam and Milk Chocolate Malted, will cost $4, and you can find the trike’s location via Twitter.

Wednesday, August 3

Sample five new ciders from Farmheads, the restaurant group behind Farmhouse and Farm Bar, during their Summer of Cider event at the Chicago location of Farmhouse (228 W. Chicago Ave., River North, 312-280-4960). The $25 tickets get you a four-ounce pour of each variety, and proceeds from the event go to FamilyFarmed.

Thursday, August 4

To celebrate its first birthday, Crown Liquors (2821 N. Milwaukee Ave., Logan Square, 773-252-9741) is having a big shindig, with live music and drink specials (such as $5 Old Forester Old Fashioneds) all evening long.

Friday, August 5

Starting tonight, La Sirena Clandestina (954 W. Fulton Market, West Loop, 312-226-5300) will get in the Olympic spirit with a Rio-inspired menu. You’ll be able to sample a barbecued goat crepinette, grilled confit octopus, and more through August 22.

Saturday, August 6

Dine outdoors during a collaborative dinner from Nicole Pederson (Found) and Ellen King (Hewn) at Hazzard Free Farms, with beers brewed especially for the meal from Claudia Jendron of Temperance Brewing Company. The day includes transportation to the Pecatonica-based farm from Evanston, followed by cocktails, a tour, and a seated family-style dinner. Tickets are $135‚ grab them here.
