Monday, August 29

Get schooled on cider at the Northman (4337 N. Lincoln Ave., North Center, 773-935-2255) during a class on the history of the beverage in America at 7 p.m. tonight. Your $30 tuition includes a tasting flight and snacks (tickets here).

Arami (1829 W. Chicago Ave., West Town, 312-243-1535) will take Hawaii as the inspiration for this month’s edition of their regular noodle night, and the Island-flavored menu includes dishes such as kalua pork and Spam musubi. Call the restaurant to make a reservation.

Tuesday, August 30

Sample offerings from neighborhood restaurants during the Taste of Streeterville, taking place this year at Pinstripes (435 E. Illinois St.). For $60 (tickets here), you’ll get access to tastings from spots such as Molly’s Cupcakes, the Windsor, and more.

Wednesday, August 31

Head to Más to taste both mezcal from distiller Mezcales de Leyenda and tacos from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For $25, you’ll get two tacos, a mezcal sample, and a mezcal cocktail. Pick up tickets here.

Friday, September 2

Cut out of work early (it’s Labor Day weekend, after all!) to help celebrate the second birthday of Vice District Brewing (1454 S. Michigan Ave., South Loop, 312-291-9022). Tonight’s party will have food trucks, beer releases, and a tasting of wines from supplier Love Cork Screw. More info here.
