What You Need To Know About the Chicago Dining Scene This Week

So many doughnuts!

Openings

Attention, doughnut fans (so basically everyone): Two local faves have opened new locations. Stan’s Donuts & Coffee is up and frying in the South Loop (26 E. Roosevelt Rd.) and Firecakes Donuts has opened its second shop, this one in Lincoln Park (2453 N. Clark St.).

Naoki Sushi (the Belden-Stratford, 2300 N. Lincoln Park West, Lincoln Park), a sushi joint compliments of Lettuce Entertain You, rolls out today.

Packed (1321 E. 57th St., Hyde Park) has been open since Friday, and early reports indicate Michael Sheerin’s dumpling mecca has been living up to its name. (Check packeddumplings.com for temporarily amended hours; demand has surpassed supply thus far.)

Morsels

The previously foodless Queen Mary Tavern (2125 W. Division St., Wicker Park, 773-697-3522) has now added a small menu to pair with its cocktail list. Five of the six dishes have seafood in them, appropriate for a British naval-themed bar.

Coming soon to O’Hare to compete with the space in your stomach earmarked for Tortas Frontera: A version of the Publican. The restaurant will take over a Wolfgang Puck Café location in Terminal 3, according to a Crain’s story, and will plan to use many of the same local farmers and suppliers as the Fulton Market flagship.
