Late-breaking deal alert! In honor of/in response to the terrible weather happening right now, both locations of DMK Burger Bar (2954 N. Sheffield Ave., Lake View, 773-360-8686; 2370 Fountain Square Drive, Lombard, 630-705-9020) will have free sea salt and black pepper fries if you mention seeing their post on Facebook about the deal.

Stuff yourself with the brand-new Don’t Fret Quality Meats sausage, a meat-based collaborative effort between artist Don’t Fret and the crew at Publican Quality Meats (825 W. Fulton Market, West Loop, 312-445-8977) to turn out a jitrnice (that’s a Czech liver sausage). The encased meat’s launch party at the restaurant tonight will include an a la carte charcuterie bar and plenty of limited edition prints for purchase starting at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, March 24

Sample a tag-team meal from chef Kevin Willmann of Farmhaus in St. Louis when he joins forces with Nathan Sears at the Radler (2375 N. Milwaukee Ave., Logan Square, 773-276-0270) for a four-course Mangalitsa pig dinner benefiting urban agriculture group Growing Home. The meal, which starts with a welcome cocktail at 6:30 p.m., includes beverage pairings from Lagunitas and Chicago Distilling Company for $65—call the restaurant to reserve.

Learn the difference between a twelve-year and a twenty-one-year Scotch at a tasting dinner at Third Rail Tavern (1133 W. Madison, West Loop, 312-432-9107), where Glenlivet Scotch ambassador Ross Graham will lead diners through a five-course paired dinner for $35. RSVPs can be made here.

Thursday, March 26

Go for a booze-fueled journey through the tastes of our neighbor to the north at the Dawson’s (730 W. Grand Ave., West Town, 312-243-8955) “From Wisconsin With Love” cocktail dinner—six ‘Sconnie-inspired drinks made with the state’s Death’s Door Spirits and Bittercube bitters, each paired with a dish from Dawson chef Shaun King. Pick up all-inclusive $65 tickets here.
