As the sunbathers give way to the kite-flyers, so the restaurant Razón gives way to Buena Beach Bar & Grill (4250 N. Marine Dr., 773-880-9115) at the Imperial Towers, a short walk from Montrose Beach.

John Grbac (Ready Coffee) brought a Mediterranean menu and a beachy vibe to the 80-seat space, with dishes such as salmon Florentine, chicken Vesuvio, brick-oven pizzas, and the Greek dish dakos salad (tomatoes, peppers, red onions, capers, and barley rusks, which are like croutons). “We put in some of the stuff you might get on the beach,” Grbac says.

As the beach snows over and the kite-flyers hang up their strings, we’re guessing people will take some summer wherever they can find it.
