Monday, September 29

Appropriately for a beer from a city currently home to a major Magritte installation, Pipeworks Brewing Company and Forbidden Root will release their Ceci N’est Pas Une Bière brew at a party at the Map Room (1949 N. Hoyne Ave., Bucktown). The poetically named spiced old ale will be available along with snacks and other brews. The party starts at 7 p.m.

Tuesday, September 30

Still a few tickets left for two of the three routes on the Wicker Park and Bucktown Fall Dinner Crawl, where participants get tasting portions of dishes from up to 12 different spots in the neighborhood—your Tuesday dinner could include bites from the Goddess & Grocer, Trenchermen, or Smoke Daddy if you buy a $35 pass today.

Wednesday, October 1

Good eating meets good drinking at the Fall Cocktail Feast at Mott St (1401 N. Ashland Ave., Wicker Park, 773-687-9977), a joint effort between Edward Kim’s kitchen crew and the teams behind Letherbee Distillers and Rhine Hall Distillery. The five-course meal with drink pairings is $60—you can snag tickets here.

Sunday, October 5

Schedule your standing brunch date at Elizabeth Restaurant (4835 N. Western Ave., Lincoln Square, 773-681-0651), where from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., chef Iliana Regan will be hosting a doughnut and dumpling social. Today only, you’ll be able to get counter-service buttermilk brioche dougnuts, pierogi, and some morning cocktails all a la carte. Bring cash and get there early.

The Taste Talks festival, a combination of food events, talks, and demonstrations, is on this weekend, and dining nerds should scan the full schedule. But if you’re just in the market for a meal, the All-Star Chef BBQ at Palmer Square Park in Logan Square is worth checking out, where boldface names such as Stephanie Izard, Rick Bayless, and Paul Kahan will each be doing their own takes on grilled eats. Pick up $40 tickets here.
